Painting the Grass Green

SDM Training Services are proud of our dedicated support for armed forces veterans. Painting the Grass Green enhances the work of independent practitioners, rehabilitation teams and support services by providing expertise and knowledge. We do this via the following.

• Are you a veteran? Why ask? - Delivered as a presentation or workshop to a range of organisations and groups. We discuss reasons for leaving the forces, challenges faced and what practitioners can do to best support someone who has served. You can book a presentation or workshop here.
• 1:1 coaching - We work with individual service users to identify transferrable skills, understand their transition and recognise civilian equivalents for job roles, qualifications and experience. We can also explore the common unhelpful thinking patterns and limiting beliefs that can often act as a barrier to progression.
• Employability courses - Our specialist employability courses can fit around the needs of your individual organisation. This has proven especially so via our AfganOppO workshops delivered specifically for Afghan nationals who previously worked with British forces.

In addition to this we provide regular employability skills based content and advice for the JobOppO House Community app.

Having experienced transition from military to civilian, Stuart understands the many challenges that can arise at various stages. With previous experience delivering the award winning LifeWorks employability course within RBLI, he has up to date knowledge of the support available to the veteran’s community. This includes a variety of services, provisions and funded courses.
