Get Work Ready is a free six-session online pilot designed to help you explore your aspirations, recognise your strengths, build practical employability skills and take ownership of your next steps.
We're looking for six motivated young people who are ready to get involved, try new things and take responsibility for their own progress.
What is Get Work Ready?
Finding your direction isn't always easy.
You may have an idea of what you would like to do, but not know how to get there. You may have skills and qualities that you haven't recognised yet. Or you may simply lack the confidence, experience or opportunities to turn your ideas into action.
Get Work Ready gives you the space, support and practical tools to start doing something about it.
Across six online sessions, we'll explore:
This isn't just about attending six sessions.
You'll have tasks to complete between sessions and opportunities to put what you've learned into practice.
The aim is for you to become more confident in making decisions, taking action and responding to opportunities.
You bring the motivation. We'll help you build the skills.
Your six-session journey
Session 1: Explore
Understand your aspirations, interests, skills and qualities and start thinking about where you want to go.
Session 2: Build
Develop the tools you need to present yourself effectively, including your CV and personal profile.
Session 3: Apply
Understand applications, cover letters and how to tailor your approach to different opportunities.
Session 4: Find Opportunities
Explore proactive job searching, networking, AI in recruitment and ways to find opportunities beyond simply applying for advertised vacancies.
Session 5: Your Next Move
A dedicated 1:1 session to reflect on your progress, explore your individual goals and identify the actions that will move you forward.
Session 6: Take Action
Put everything together, review your progress and create a practical plan for what you will do next.
Who is it for?
Get Work Ready is for 18–24-year-olds who are currently looking for employment, opportunities or a clearer direction for their future.
You don't need to have everything figured out.
You don't need a perfect CV.
You don't need previous work experience.
What you do need is a willingness to get involved and take responsibility for your own progress.
This pilot is particularly suited to young people who can say:
“I'm ready to do something about it.”
What will we expect from you?
Because this is a small pilot, we're looking for participants who are prepared to take ownership of their journey.

It's about being willing to have a go, learn from the experience and keep moving forward.
